The Cross of St. Bartholomew and St. Cyprian: How to make the cross? 

Take three pieces of cedar wood—one long and two shorter ones—and use rosemary, rue, and celery to bind them into the shape of a cross. In each arm, above and below the longest piece, place a small amount of cypress. Then, immerse the cross in holy water for three days. At midnight after this period, remove it while reciting the following prayer aloud: "Cross of St. Bartholomew, by virtue of the water and plants in which you have been immersed and the forests from which they come, I free myself from the temptations of evil spirits and ask for the grace of good fortune. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen." Repeat the prayer quietly four times.

The great magic of beans

For this spell, kill a black cat and place a bean in each eye, one below the tail, and one in each ear. Then bury the cat. Water the grave nightly at midnight until the beans have sprouted and matured. Once the beans are ripe, harvest and bring them home. Place each bean in your mouth one by one. When you sense that you become invisible, it means that the beans possess magical properties. Thus, if you wish to go anywhere unseen, simply place a magic bean in your mouth.

Boil the body of a black cat in water with white seeds and willow wood until the meat falls off the bones. Remove the bones onto a cloth, and in front of a mirror, place the bones one by one into your mouth until you feel you have acquired the power to become invisible. Keep the enchanted bone; whenever you want to go somewhere unseen, place that bone in your mouth.

Another black cat spell intended to do harm

To exact revenge on an enemy, take a black cat and tie its four legs with a rope made from esparto grass (used for making carpets). At night, bring the cat to a crossroads and say: "I, [say your name], in the name of Almighty God, command the demon to appear here, bound by obedience and holy laws. Lucifer, Satan, I command you to enter the body of this person I wish to harm and not leave until I give the order. Assist me in all that I ask in my life." (Specify what harm you intend to do.) "Oh great Lucifer, Emperor of all that is hell, I offer you this cat, tied to the body of [say the enemy’s name], just as I have bound this cat." After completing this, present the cat when everything is ready.

Once the devil has fulfilled your request, return to the summoning site and say: "Lucifer, Lucifer, here is what I promised." These words will release the cat.

How to make a pact with the devil and create a little devil?

On a piece of virgin paper, write with your own blood: "I, by the blood of my little finger, write this to Lucifer, to fulfill all my desires in life. If this does not happen, I will no longer belong to him." Then sign your name. Next, write the same text on a fertilized black hen's egg, laid by a black rooster. Make a small hole in the egg and drop a drop of blood from the little finger of your right hand inside. Wrap the egg in cotton and place it under a pile of manure or beneath black hens. From this egg will be born a little devil, which must be kept inside a silver box filled with silver powder. Each Saturday, offer your little finger’s blood to the little devil. Those who can sustain such a pact will obtain everything they desire in life.

Make two rag dolls and bind them together so they appear to be embracing. Then place five nails in specific areas as follows:

The first nail goes through the head, while reciting: "Well, [name of the person you wish to harm], I, [your name], nail, tie and pierce your body. Just as I pierce and bind your figure."

The snake will likely die soon afterward. Remove the snake’s head, dry it, and roast it over an iron grill. Grind it into powder and mix it with a few drops of laudanum. When you wish to use this spell, rub a small amount of the powder on your hands.

Recipe to make a man fall in love with you

The woman should obtain a silver item from the man she desires—such as a safety pin, medal, coin, or pendant—that he has worn for at least 24 hours. Holding the silver in one hand, she offers the man a glass of wine laced with a drop (about the size of a grain of corn) of potion containing eel’s head, a pinch of hemp seeds, and two drops of laudanum. After drinking, the man will become enamored with the woman who offered the drink.
Another recipe calls for the woman to prepare a cup of chocolate for the man, to which she adds two dashes of cinnamon, a five-pointed clove, ten grams of vanilla, and a pinch of nutmeg. After brewing, remove the cloves and add two drops of Spanish fly. It’s best served within a sweet pie. Wait for the grapes to mature and then harvest the cluster, freeing the bottle from the vine. The oil and grapes contained within have these properties:

First, when a lamp fueled by this oil is lit, you will see shrubs where the vine grew, along with birds, plants, and people present when the grapes were harvested. These visions disappear as soon as the light goes out.

Secondly, the oil has the power to heal both new and old wounds when applied and secured with a linen cord.

Thirdly, you can use this oil to summon souls from purgatory and communicate with them at a church’s entrance at midnight. Light a lamp fueled by this oil and say: "By the power of this light, I command the souls in purgatory—those buried in this place—to come and speak to me." The souls will appear immediately.

On the great book of Saint Cyprian

The great book of Saint Cyprian is an occult text originally written in Portuguese and Spanish, published in multiple editions under different titles. Although attributed to St. Cyprian, the Cipriano mentioned is undoubtedly the legendary sorcerer who converted to Christianity, later became bishop, and was martyred alongside Justina in Antioch. The actual book appeared centuries after his death and could not have been penned by him. The earliest known edition dates back to 1849. As Crow describes it, "It is the book of Saint Cyprian, taken from a manuscript made by the Holy One himself, teaching how to undo all spells cast by the Moors in the Kingdom of Portugal, and also how to find hidden treasures."

The book was brought from Portugal to Brazil, where it became widely used in popular religion, particularly in Umbanda and Candomblé. Many regard possessing or even touching the book as sinful. Some owners keep it chained inside a box. In Portugal, it is believed that reading the text backward summons the devil.
